Episode 18: And The Oscar Goes To…

Well, here we are dolls! The finale! It has been a long, tumultuous road this season. Definitely a lot of drama, and not as many laughs. However, my bond with Teresa became even stronger and we are as close as ever. So, here it goes; my thoughts on episode 18:

To kick it off, I will say again: Teresa did not know Melissa would be set up! She did not put anyone up to anything! When Joe Gorga is calling everyone rats, maybe he should look to Bulldog’s Twitter feed because he is the one who started it, not us! The rumor has been going around for years. Give it a rest already. And if I ever see Joe do an interview without knocking his sister, I would fall off my chair…

Whenever I throw a party or event, I always make sure I get to greet and mingle with all of my guests. That is what I was doing when Penny and Teresa called me over. When I was summoned you could see that I was not particularly thrilled about being brought into it. I wanted no part of it and I was no part of it PERIOD. This was in no way my battle. And when Melissa says “Teresa has a lot of control over Kim D”, I think all of you have gotten to know me at this point and should understand that there is not one person on this planet who has ever controlled me…EVER. And in response to “who has the agenda to take Melissa down”, what I was thinking when I look at Teresa was here we go again. Unfortunately, there are people who do want to take Melissa down, but in this particular case the proof is in the pudding. The Gorgas should see that and once and for all stop blaming Teresa.

I will get more into this later because believe me, I HAVE A LOT TO SAY, but to address Caroline’s interview statement: “You know this whole thing I’m watching it play out and I realize that the common denominator is always Kim D. For years, and years, and years her hands have been dirty. You know it’s just ugly, it’s just wrong.” First of all, “YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS?!” Boy, that sounds like a lot of time! I have known Caroline for five years, and that’s it. I am a business owner. I have events all the time. I invite everyone who supports my business, whether they be family, friends, or clients. I do not disinvite people who shop at Posche just because they do not get along with other people who are attending.  It’s my opening so that automatically puts me at fault because it’s taking place in my establishment? Come on…

For the record, I told Penny to tell John not to come. I did not think it was the time and the place for everyone to confront each other at my opening. If you heard earlier in last week’s episode, Melissa asked Joe if Johnny was coming. He replied saying he hoped so. Jacqueline and Chris also mentioned they too were hoping he was there so they could speak to him. It was clear trouble was brewing. That is why when John walks in you hear me say: “Oh God, oh God, oh God.” I was nervous because I immediately felt the aggression in the room. I always own it when I had something to do with something, and I can say that I had absolutely NOTHING to do with this.

Joe Gorga of course has the right to defend his wife. This situation has been building up for two years since the Posche Fashion Show in 2011. I will say that I know Teresa and she would never talk about her parents to anyone. She is very protective of them.  As I feared, things went from bad to worse. The incident that happened that night was like nothing I had ever seen before. Much worse than the christening. I will agree with Caroline that it was exactly like a tsunami. Within seconds my boutique was leveled, not to mention the brand new porcelain sinks the Moxies had just installed. Everyone was not only in shock, but scared for their lives. Instead of taking the confrontation outside, the men put their wives and a room full of what was primarily women, in utter danger.

Now, with regards to Caroline’s literally off-the-wall reaction to the events, this is what I have to say: Firstly, I do not appreciate having a finger pointed in my face. If everyone remembers back to the Season 1 finale, Danielle told Caroline the same thing. It is very degrading. Secondly, am I-iiiiii “happy”?! I will quote myself, I WAS “NOT F*CKING HAPPY!” My brand new clothes were destroyed, my cuffs were broken, not to mention the back of my dear friends’ salon was practically demolished. Why on earth would I EVER want that? Thirdly, what I “did to a family”?? So, apparently the whole debacle is to be blamed solely on me because I threw a party to celebrate my opening. My mistake. And not to mention the fact that I made up with Joe and Melissa earlier this year BECAUSE Teresa is such a good friend and we wanted to put an end to any animosity. While Caroline was jumping up and down like a human jack-in-the-box, apparently going for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role Oscar, my own “army” was rallying around me flabbergasted by such ludicrous accusations. It was beyond disrespectful, and right in front of my mother nonetheless? Disgusting. Fourthly, the “moron” comment…I KNOW she was not talking about me. I really appreciated Jamie (owner of the Moxie) jumping in front of me and telling Caroline to “get out”. She really had my back and was not going to stand for her screaming in my face for no reason. Not to mention, this fight was absolutely none of her business! Thank goodness I was being held back for fear of my safety because I do not take too kindly to being verbally attacked. I feel Caroline has been bullying people for years. She has called people names like “garbage” and “clown”, not to mention said she would “burn my store down” if she was Teresa. She has always shopped at my store and been nice to my face. Our families go way back. Much to my dismay, I had no idea whatsoever that she felt this way about me. Now I guess I know where we stand.

In conclusion, this season started with the perfect storm and ended with the perfect storm. Having personally experienced and lived through Hurricane Sandy, it was truly devastating for the state of New Jersey. Millions were left without electricity, gas lines were 5+ hours long, not to mention all the people who lost their beautiful homes. I think it’s safe to say that Sandy was the real home wrecker this year. It really puts things into perspective. In the grand scheme of things, all of these little tiffs and idle gossip, are really very trivial. Life is too short and I remind myself of this every single day.

I will be back next week to share my thoughts on the Reunion: Part 1! Hope you all enjoyed the first week of Fall! And tickets for the POSCHE Fashion Show are almost sold out! It’s going to be the best one yet, so if you’d still like to join us call to get yours! We promise you a fabulous time as always!

Episode 16: Rumor Has It…

Hi Dolls! I hope everyone enjoyed the gorgeous weather this weekend. I went into Little Italy last night for the Feast of San Gennaro and had a fabulous time! I love Manhattan in the fall!

So, we’re rounding it all out soon! Here are my thoughts on episode 16:

I would first like to congratulate my girlfriend Teresa on her new line of Skinny Italian products. I continue to be amazed by her, and I know she will continue to have nothing but success with all of her quickly growing brands!

It was very refreshing to see the Giudices and Gorgas have a nice family dinner at Rare. As an aside, if anyone is looking for a new steakhouse in our area of Jersey, Rare is fabulous!  The seafood tower they were eating is to die for! Anyway, I was very happy they were all relaxing and getting along. I love Antonia! She is such a wise woman and I have the utmost respect for her. She stole the entire scene! And didn’t Teresa look fab in her black and blue striped peplum top? It’s one of our faves, Torn by Ronny Kobo from Posche!

Juicy Joe clearly makes a juicy steak! My mouth was watering just looking at it! And loved the lesson on Fertility: 101 by Joe and Rosie! They had me cracking up. I thought Teresa did a very good job coaching Jacqueline with her speech, despite Chris laughing about it in the interview! It was all in good fun, and I thought his reaction was very cute!

Quick thought: I completely agreed when Joe Gorga told Johnny the music manager that “love is everything”, not sex. And Melissa is also wearing Torn in this scene. We have a few of those gold bodysuits left in the store…so sexy!

Richie was a big help in prepping for the big cannoli launch! My favorite part of the entire episode is when he drops the cards all over the kitchen floor! Haha I laughed so hard! And when the sign falls over outside! I will reiterate, Richie is hysterical this season! I wish Kathy a lot of luck, as I can speak from personal experience and say that owning your own business definitely has its ups and downs. I have never had the pleasure of tasting one of her cannolis, but I am sure they are very good!

Jacqueline’s Autism speech was very touching, and I thought her delivery was spot on. She is a wonderful mom and Nick’s progress is truly remarkable. He has come so far, and I think it’s very commendable that Jacq wants to help others by raising awareness.

Question. At Chakra, why does Melissa act so happy when she walks over to Penny at the bar? If she and Joe really believe Penny is the one who is actually spreading these rumors why act so calm around her? And better yet, why is Joe so quick to point a finger at all the women with regards to this cheating accusation? Why not go right to the source? I didn’t start the rumor. Teresa didn’t start the rumor. Jan didn’t start the rumor. And Penny didn’t start the rumor. Melissa’s ex did! It was all over Twitter. Whether it did or did not happen, HE is the one Joe Gorga should be confronting! Maybe it is just easier to always blame Teresa. Hmm…

Well, by the looks of the previews I guess you could all see I’m back next week! My Posche 2 opening at the Moxie Salon is the finale and it’s a two parter again! We’re gonna go out with a bang! Can’t wait for this one and I can only say one thing: Drama will be delivered! Until next week…

Arizona: A Horse of a Different Color

Hi dolls! Happy Fall! Sorry I have been a few weeks behind, but Arizona was a three parter, so I combined all episodes together.  I’m going to keep this one short and sweet, as I have a feeling there will be a lot to discuss in the weeks to come!

I would like to start out by saying that I give Melissa a lot of credit for going to Arizona for therapy on her birthday, and sick let alone! Arizona is beautiful, but you would have to drag me kicking and screaming before I would fly 3,000 miles on a plane across the country to do healing family group exercises whilst under the weather! It feels like they were there forever too! Anyway, she was a real trooper and I felt for her!

I thought the best part of the trilogy was Wyatt, the horse whisperer. He really dug deep down and got to the bottom of the underlying issues and history within the group. He did not hold back or sugarcoat anything, and I think that is why everyone was so emotional. With this exercise, Wyatt also got everyone to encourage and support one another in being able to lift the horse’s hoof. The whole scene was very real. It was truly unbelievable to see how that horse could interpret all of the different levels of energy and confidence. It just proves how smart animals really are. I do have to disagree with Caroline’s comment in the interview about Teresa being superficial. I have known Teresa a long time and I can honestly say that she is one of the least superficial people I know. She never ceases to amaze me especially with her fans. She is very gracious and will take countless pictures until she literally cannot smile anymore!

The second part of the trip I could appreciate the most was the partnered tightrope walking. It was very sweet to see Teresa and her brother get up there together and have to rely so heavily on one another, no pun intended. I give them all credit because I personally could never go up there being afraid of heights! I also thought it was very noble of Teresa to go back up a second time with Melissa when she knew she was afraid. They didn’t make it very far on the actual rope, but in terms of their relationship I think they made it a long way in that moment.

Lastly, I have to address Joe throwing the glass at the wall. I understand that everyone was drinking that night, however he almost got glass in his sister’s eye. Joe Gorga is very passionate, and of course any man would get that angry if someone was verbally attacking his wife on Twitter. I just need to reiterate that Joe really does need to learn how to control his temper before someone gets hurt. Melissa did reprimand him, as she should have, but I just worry that one day it will be a little too late.

Like I said, short and sweet on this one, but be prepared for the upcoming ones to be much lengthier to close out the season. We are coming to the end already if you can believe it! Still some great stuff to come though, so check back after Sunday night for the next edition of my blog! Posche has been rocking and I am so appreciative to everyone who has been coming by to show support and shop! Our next fashion show is coming up on Wednesday, October 23rd at the Venetian and tickets are selling fast! Hope to see some of you there! Until next week!

Episode 9: Truce-fully Yours

Hi Dolls! What an emotional roller coaster these past three episodes have taken us all on! Here is my blog for Episode 9:

Let me start out by repeating again how much I absolutely LOVE Dr. V! She is fabulous in so many ways, and how brilliant is she?! What Dr. V was able to accomplish with the Giudices and Gorgas was truly unbelievable.  It was nothing short of a Mexican standoff. She was somehow able to make peace out of a situation everyone thought was irreparable. I have the utmost respect for people who choose to spend their lives helping others. Truly commendable. And she’s so fashionable too!

I would like to state my belief in life is that in a good relationship you do not need to be attached at the hip. Dr. V suggested that Teresa and Joe Gorga should spend time alone and I am in 100% agreement with that statement. Married couples should take a little bit of time apart now and then. It is healthy for both people. And I do not feel Teresa should be apologizing anymore! Enough is enough, it’s time to move forward.

Rosie is a good-hearted soul. I felt bad for her sitting at the table because it was clear she really just wanted everyone to make up. Her family means a lot to her and it shows. As always she provided the much needed comic relief on the trip!

I thought it was so cute to see Melissa get a little buzzed and let her hair down! I definitely would’ve been right there with her in the kitchen watching everyone else cook while downing a few Grey Gooses, worrying more about my eyelashes being singed by the flames!

It was so sweet to see Joe Giudice’s sensitive side, although it was not surprising to me. I love Joe, and we always talk straight. I believe that Teresa will take his advice and make up with Jacqueline before season’s end. And hmm, interesting conversation at the Laurita dinner table!! I love Chris, but the sock comment was TMI!

Lastly, as always I love seeing the girls in my Posche clothes! Teresa looked gorgeous in our Boulee violet Audrey top in her interview! We are currently sold out, but just ordered more colors for Fall! And of course, Jacqueline in our Kings of Cole Buddha tee paired with our Rich + Skinny distressed jeans. She looked adorable!

Well, that’s all until next week! Hope everyone is having a fabulous summer! I am loving mine. Have been spending lots of time at Posche and traveling on the weekends. Last weekend was especially exciting as I received an honorary Ambassador of Peace Award at a prestigious event in the Hamptons! I was thrilled and what an honor! After all, Andy did call me Switzerland… 😉

Ep. 7 & 8: Dr. V to the Rescue!

Hi dolls! I’m back! Took a break for a week, and enjoyed the summer sun! This was a two part episode, so here are my thoughts for both episodes 7 & 8!

Teresa asked my opinion back in the winter if I thought the retreat was a good idea. I told her I thought it was a very good idea, and I give her a lot of credit for organizing it. I think you can all see that everyone talks about each other. They are all angry and hurt. There are really no innocent parties here. Everyone at this point has almost thrown in the towel. We all see what’s been going on, and what’s lead to the different events that have taken place. I speak from personal experience when I say that this is normal in large Italian families to fight. This family’s fight just happens to be playing itself out on international television in front of an audience of millions of people!

The fight left me speechless, yet in a way I felt it was a good thing. I think it was something that they all needed to get out of their systems. A fight between the Joes seemed to be brewing for some time, and in the end I myself was just thankful that no one really got hurt.

As I stated in one of my previous blogs, Joe Gorga and myself are civil with one another now. Even though he called me a number of choice words, he apologized to me and we have moved past it. That being said I still feel very strongly that he needs to learn to control his anger, especially against women. It is just not right to call women names, especially when it comes to your sister. “Scum” is the type of word that is hard to take back once it’s been said. I truthfully do not feel he really meant it, but it was said in the heat of the moment. He just needs to start thinking before he speaks. On a separate note, I was hysterically laughing when Joe was explaining the black Rogaine spray getting on everybody during the fight in his interview! Too funny!

How cute did Teresa and Joe look in the bathtub?! Those are the good friends that I know and love right in that moment together. And they were drinking Peach Fabellini, my favorite!

I think Dr. V is great! She is clearly a beautiful, sexy Italian woman who gets it! I love her work ethic and can really appreciate that she has chosen to spend her life helping people solve their problems. I was so happy to see Teresa and Joe (her brother) break down and hug it out. Now she and Melissa need to figure out a way to forget about the past and bury the hatchet.

That’s all I’ll say on this one. I need to get back to Posche as we have been very busy running a big blowout July sale! I have some new projects in the works that I can’t wait to share with everyone! Stay tuned!

Episode 6: Friend or Faux Pas?

Hi Dolls! Hope everyone had a fabulous holiday weekend! I can’t believe it’s July already! Where did the year go?! Also hard to believe we are already up to episode 6 of Season 5! This is a blog I have really been looking forward to sharing with you, so here it goes:

Teresa truly has a passion for food and is very talented in what she does. I have been to the Giudice house many a times and indulged in their delicious sausage, not to mention my personal favorite, Joe’s homemade red wine. Making sausage is one of their favorite activities to do as a family and the kids love it. I was so elated to see Teresa’s dad out of the hospital and finally home where he belongs with his loved ones.

Just to set the record straight with regards to the tweet Melissa references at the Waterside lunch; I was personally with Teresa when she wrote it, and she was genuinely thrilled for her sister-in-law’s book deal! Melissa is even going to be doing a book signing at Posche this summer! Date TBA!

I had to laugh at my girls Teresa and Jacqueline fighting on speaker phone at the boutique. I love them both, but they sounded more like an ex-married couple arguing, not ex-girlfriends! I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised as to what the season has in store for their relationship.

Now onto yours truly! After this episode, you will clearly see that I have obviously been established as “the villain” of the season! I’ll own it proudly! After all, things do just fall into my lap! 😉

FYI: If anyone lives up in our area of North Jersey and has not been to the new Bellissimo’s, I highly recommend it! Definitely one of my new favorite restaurants and such gorgeous decor! First just to clarify, I was not calling the waiter cute. Not saying that he was not a good-looking man, but I was actually making reference to a picture on my phone of a guy I had recently met at the time. I am now single, and will address the unfortunate circumstances of that situation in a later blog. To address how I know Jan: a very dear friend of mine who has known her for years introduced us. Jan owns a salon called Teeze, which has headed up hair and makeup for my models at a recent Posche fashion show. Teresa had just started marketing her Milania Hair Care products and was looking for salons in the area to start carrying the line. My friend and I both felt that Teeze would be a great fit. As for Penny, she is also a salon owner and hairdresser whom I have known for years. She and Jan are friendly as they run in similar circles. The initial purpose of the meeting was for Teresa to pitch the Milania line to Jan and Penny and also to personally invite them to her launch party. Teresa started reminiscing with Jan when we sat down at the table to catch up on old times. That is when Jan admitted that Melissa was no longer her friend. From what Jan had told me in the past, she was upset with Melissa for not acknowledging or supporting her new business venture (Teeze), and also for ultimately casting her aside as a friend. Bottom line: Jan was hurt. At the time, I was more than “not too fond” of Melissa for reasons that have at this point been made very clear. As I previously stated, we are in a good place now. However, this was a girls night out. What do girls typically do on a night out? Gossip. Jan took the conversation to a place none of us expected it to go. We sat and listened. It was not my story.

Onto the lunch with Melissa and the woman I like to refer to in the rest of my blogs as “the realtor”. Where do I begin? Should I start with the Warpaint collection of MAC cosmetics she was showcasing, or the “macaroni and cheeth” that was apparently so delicious she barely came up for air?! And I should state that Montville is a beautiful and very affluent town. Most people would kill to live there. Not sure why the realtor would tell Melissa she should be living anywhere else. As far as the “cheating on your huthband” goes…(is it just me or does she sound like she has marbles in her mouth when she speaks?) maybe at the time you could say I did have it out for Melissa because of what she did with regards to my business. However, I  would never look to break up a marriage. This story came out and I sat back and listened. As I said it was not MY story. Teresa however, did not just sit back and listen. She was uncomfortable with the discussion and what you do not see is that she actually got up from the table. She did not want any part of it PERIOD.

Onto Portobello’s…Let me first say that everyone who lives in my town goes to Portobello’s. So for those who may ask what I was doing there the same night as the Gorgas, Wakiles, and Lauritas? It was a cold Friday night in the middle of winter. I took my mom, my assistant, and her friend down the street for a few drinks and a bite to eat. I had no idea whatsoever they would be there. The place was packed.

I was quite displeased to hear Joe’s comment about “women who do not have men that love them.” A man does not define who a woman is. Only she can do that herself. A woman’s happiness should have nothing to do with not having the love from a man. When I am called over to the table, you see Jacqueline holding her nose. She is a jokester and was only kidding. We are very close and she likes to bust on me. She threw the napkin so that Melissa and I would stop arguing. And by the way, it was very refreshing to hear how much Richie loves me!

In reference to the “coincidences”, they are not coincidental. I said it on the reunion and I will say it again: The circumstances were simply convenient. Anyone in my life can tell you that I know A LOT of people. People do talk and are always telling me things. Do I believe everything I hear? No, absolutely not, but that doesn’t always stop information from getting out. I was not looking for “a pass.” Did not ask for one, did not want one. Kathy asks why I didn’t shut the conversation down at Bellissimo’s when it turned ugly. Maybe that would have been the right thing to do. However, as most of you do know by now I have a devilish side in me and I cannot always help that! I can say that going forward I will try my hardest and work on it! 😉

What you do not see when Joe asks me if I think Melissa cheated on him is that I actually say: “No, I don’t think she cheated. ” I will repeat, I would never wish to break up a marriage. Like Melissa says, they are “un-f*ckin-breakable” and I do firmly believe that. And I had to smile during the interview when Melissa tells me to “go jump off the GW”, (all in good humor) because she is wearing our Mittmi coral minidress from Posche! Looks great on you, Melis!!

Finally, doesn’t Teresa look beautiful in our Alice + Olivia red tweed jacket? She has been such a supporter to Posche over the years and I truly appreciate her loyalty. I do have to ask: What else would this realtor do to get a listing? And wait, WHO is the “sh*tstarter”?? Think someone needs to take a good, long look in the mirror. She is FAR from innocent and that’s all I’ll say about that for the moment…

As you’re reading this I am currently on my way to a secret location that you will all learn about very soon! It’s a surprise! Sshhhh! So much more to come from me! Stay tuned!

Thoughts on RHONJ Episode 3

Hi dolls, I’m back! For those of you who didn’t see last week’s post, I have started my own blog so that I can share my opinions and viewpoints on Season 5. Here are my thoughts on episode 3:

Teresa has been working out religiously for a while now. It is rare when she comes into Posche and hasn’t just been at the gym! She goes the same time every morning. On this particular day, Teresa happened to go earlier than usual because she was going to the hospital to visit her father. She was of course aware that Melissa is a member at the same gym, however they have never crossed paths before because they go at different times during the day. While we were sitting in Kafe Neo, Teresa got the call from Linda saying that she had just seen Melissa at Get Fit with Jacqueline and Kathy (who are not members there) at the same exact time she normally works out everyday. She was a little taken aback. For many people the gym is a personal sanctuary; a place where we can go to de-stress and forget about our problems. Their timing was just too coincidental, and Teresa felt it was a bit of an invasion of her privacy.

I would like to quickly touch upon the comment I made over coffee in regards to Kathy’s weight. It was meant as a joke in the heat of the moment, however I would like to state for the record that I feel all women, any shapes and sizes, are beautiful. It is not nice to call people fat.

The scenes with Nicholas are so emotional and heartwarming to me. Jacq is an incredibly dedicated and loving mother. As her friend, I really admire her strength and am very proud of her.

I love Gia, and have watched her grow into a beautiful, well-mannered, poised young lady. At only 12 years old, she helps Teresa take care of Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana, not only like a big sister, but like a second mom. Gia is truly wonderful, and the scene of her and Joe is as sweet as Gellotti’s ice cream!

Lastly, I give Melissa a lot of credit for insisting on taking the kids by herself to Gia’s birthday party when Joe had pneumonia. She was making strides to mend their relationship and allow the cousins to be together again. Everyone is probably wondering why I questioned Melissa about visiting her father-in-law in the hospital. The answer is simple: There was an elephant in the room. Everyone was talking about it, and it was putting a damper on the mood of the party in the “adult room”. Teresa is my friend and it was weighing on her mind. So I pulled Melissa aside and came right out with it. When I say “defend yourself”, it was my way of saying here’s your chance to tell your side of the story and end it here and now. Unfortunately, peace was not made and Melissa took the kids and left the party early. No one wanted her to leave, but the elephant proved to be too big for everyone.

Need to run for now, but will be back for more next week! I’m at Courtney and Tony’s wedding in Lancaster, PA! Congrats to the bride and groom!

Kim
